The Brunei Darussalam Go Association sent a delegation of two individuals to the 14th Korea Prime Minister World Amateur Baduk Championship at the Yeongwol Sport Park Indoor Stadium, Gangwon Province, South Korea from September 1-5. Leading the Brunei delegation was Winston Ang and player Sia Kao Xiang (2-dan).

On behalf of the association, Winston Ang attended the 2019 Asian Go Federation’s (AGF) General Assembly Meeting (AGM) held for 14 representatives from Asia.

The AGM emphasised the role of AGF in providing assistance and support to AGM members. The AGM also awarded prizes for the top four countries who won the ‘AGF Go Online Competition’.

Baduk is the Korean term for the game Go/Weiqi. Players from 62 countries joined the event which came with the slogan ‘One Baduk, One World’. This was the first time Sia has participated in a world championship, and he came in with the position of 42 out of 62 players.
